So, Beau and I had our Outdoor Training the 1st of May. We had a great time even though it was in the rain 80% of the time. Thursday night we did a training at the church and did the basic trainings. Learned about the Flag, Bandages, Plants, Burns, Bits and all that fun outdoor stuff that every scout should know all about.

Here's Beau being bandaged up. (kinda of, hehe... the bandages were a little small...)

We headed up to Maple Dell in Payson Canyon Friday night. It was so beautiful the first night. As you can see in the picture the deer were not scared at all. We saw dozens just around our camp. Very cool!

Beau cookin' our patrol's dinner. Beef stew! it was yummy!

About 2 in the morning it began to rain. And it pretty much NEVER stopped!!! We were in 6 inches of mud all day long. It wasn't too bad but it would have been SOOO much better if it weren't raining most of the time.

Beau all bundled up!

Here's our Patrol... in the rain.

For one of the "lessons" we were given a dutch oven including 1 lb of hamburger, an onion, celery, 3 packs Ramen noddles, box of Mac n' Cheese, bag of Bisquick, a can of cream corn and some shredded cheese. The deal was we had to use everything and if we wanted something more (like utensils, anymore food) we had to sing a song or something worth while for what we wanted.

Here's the final product! It was pretty good. (for what we had to work with)
Before this project we learned of all the plants in our surrounding area and learn that this green plant was edible and so to show off our group put the edible leafs as garnish for our masterpiece dinner!

We had to come up with a patrol name and so this is what we were.

the
Covered Wagon Braggin' DragonsOur Patrol won 2nd place over all. They gave us points for things we did throughout the weekend. It was a super fun and inspiring weekend! We are now "trained" scoutmaster(s)! A super duper accomplishment!
