The Pioneer Woman

Wednesday night I had Beau take me on a date up to the East bench of Salt Lake City to this great little book shop called The King's English where I got to meet one of my favorite blog writers and now cookbook author!

We stood in line for the tickets to actually get her to sign the book about hour and half. And Boy! am I glad we got there when we did. The line wasn't too bad but it seemed right after we got there so did every one else!

About 6:30 they had us all pile into this gorgeous Gallery that was next the the book shop where she spoke and answered questions. There was way more people than this bookstore ever thought there would be and so we were everywhere in that gallery. Some on chairs, a stair case, the floor, and standing in the back, where we ended up!

Waiting in the Gallery

There she is... Ree Drummond

She was great!! She talked a little about her life and how she started with just a blog to show her Mom her kids and then she started writing about living on a ranch and the craziness of it all. She has a great fun wit to her stories! I love reading about her daily life. Then she start posting some recipes with step by step photos. Random people starting leaving how much they loved her recipes, stories and photography and 3 years later here she is... greatly successful and a new cookbook!

Here's the crowd of people waiting for there letter to be called to go into the book store to see Ree!

We were so lucky that we were letter "E" and were one of the first 100 to go see her!!
There was 20 people to each letter! They ran out of letters before we went into the Gallery!!

There we are!!

Here poor hand must be so dead by the time she gets done with a book signing night!
She told Beau that we was a good man to come with me! Beau was flattered and he told her "Sure! Anything for my Wife!" :)
He was really great for going with me. There was probably 20 other men there! Beau says that he was behind in his time to start a blog. We was really inspired by her and how she had a money making site. That's Beau dream. To live in the country, work from home, have a big money making website! One day... maybe one day!!

(I gave a copy to my Sister for her birthday, she loved it!)

It was truly inspiring to meet someone that I've been admiring for about 2 years now and to actually see her success and to have the chance to go to her book signing and hear her speak of her life and successes. I'm so glad I went. I'm more excited to have my new cookbook! She has all her recipes on her site and they are very delicious and pretty dang simple!! Check her out!

Happy Halloween

Time is just flyin by...

Well it's been a while since I've done anything with the blog. I figured I should at least express some thoughts and things happening. I can't believe its September and that summer is pretty much over! We have some exciting couple of months coming ahead of us! I love this time of year, lots of fun things to look forward to. Lots of family get together's. The weather changing. I love the fall but not what comes after it! We have one last camping trip before the summer really ends. We're going out to Great Basin National Park. I'm so excited! I haven't been outdoors like usual summers cause Beau's been gone on scout outings so this is my real first camping trip of the year! October is just chuck full for us! The biggest thing happening is that my little brother Brandon will be returning home from his mission in Des Moines, Iowa! I can't believe he's been gone for 2 years already! It will be great to have him back! Before he comes home we are taking a quick trip to San Francisco to see the Grandparents! Oh! how we love San Francisco! We are so grateful for the chance to go out there for just a bit! Then Beau has 2 full weekends of camping for Wood Badge training. I'll miss him so much! But he will have a blast learning tons of stuff to help his boy scouts! Then it's Thanksgiving then CHRISTMAS! oh, WOW has the year gone by sooo fast!
Things are going great in our little home. Still just working everyday all day long! We are so grateful for our jobs and that things are looking up a bit for the companies in this crazy economy! Beau loves bossing people around :) just kidding. But he is in a new position and is managing people and being Mr. Boss. We love our ward and callings. Beau is such an awesome Scout Master. I've been on a coupon-ing kick. I've been a crazy coupon-shopper for a while now and can't believe I've paid full price for things that I've just had to run to the store and get. My goal is to have things in "stock" in my cupboards and always have things we need to just make a meal. Instead of running to the store for this and that. Though I do really wish I could be a Crazy food pantry woman with a whole basement of supplies! :) But it's gunna be a while for that!
Anyways! Check back for pictures on our upcoming events :)
Love ya!
